FURIA – Grudzień za Grudniem

      For some time a frequent guest in my CD player was the album “Płoń”. I returned to it at every opportunity. This material has only one defect, small and not really important – it is too short. As it turned out it was an appetizer before the main course. At the moment, I taste the further work of FURIA – ‘Grudzień za grudniem”. I decided to wait a little bit with doing this review. In the meantime, I will examine carefully the contents of the second disc. I will decompose it into smallest factors, then write a few logical sentences. Great plan, right? In fact, impossible to realize. With every listening of the album my rational thinking took the day off and it’s place was occupied by deep emotions. On and on. I lost in the running start, before I actually decided to start. What was the reason? Two things. First, less significant it’s that I treat FURIA with some sentiment (too personal, I know - fuck it, got my own reasons). The second reason is more concrete, namely “Grudzień za Grudniem” is a genius album, reaching the absolute in some moments. It’s focused on one thing – planting the seeds of concern in brain. Committed to this goal is dark, dangerously violent music and lyrics. The skeleton of the composition is made of simple, traditional and ultra-fast black metal, which is only a tool to create original music. Abrupt changes in tone, speed and even forms of quality are not surprising. On the contrary, they make an overall unity. Nothing here is inserted on the power. The sound comes one from another. Music of FURIA is hypnotizing, addicitive and slowly penetrates brain slowly blows your mind. Fury, depression and melancholy are only a small amount of emotions in which “Grudzień za Grudniem” is filled with. Music is the one thing, but don’t forget to take a notice at distinctive vocals of Nihil and lyrics - full of hate and violence, disturbing at the same time and forcing reflection. What more can I say? More than the fact that the new album of FURIA is the completed work. It is a kind of poison, which waste your mind and body. It is a music poetry which can be compared to Shakespeare or Asnyk. Am I exaggerating? No! Try to listen the several compositions and you will understand what is the source of power of this music.
